Tres Cocos
Tres Cocos is so named after three tall coconut trees on shore are used to locate the site. Unlike Mexico Rocks, Tres Cocos is located in the shallow waters midway between the great barrier reef and the island of Ambergris Caye. At about 4-8 feet deep, here you will see up close bountiful colonies of vibrant corals, butterfly fish, angelfish and many other
forms of large and small marine life. You will also see magnificent elk horns and brain corals, which can grow up to 20 feet and make good protection for the juvenile fishes. On the sandy seabed, you might even see stingrays, eagle rays, and peacock flounder. Tres Cocos is protected from ocean swells and currents, so it makes for easier snorkelling - perfect for beginners.
At the Captain’s Choice, you will get an opportunity to discover corals in more vibrant colors and a new range of reef systems apart from those in Tres Cocos.
